Valérie Chartrand has a predilection for printmaking and the exploration of imprint in a broader sense, including electro-etching, cyanotype and photography. Her reflections focus on insects and the significance of their presence and absence in our environment. Her first solo exhibition, Ghost Hives, took place at La Maison des artistes in the Fall of 2017. She is currently focusing on cycles of life, death and regeneration in the insect world. The Chrysalis series presented in the atrium at Forth will be part of this new exploration and will appear floating and luminous in the space through augmented reality accessible on the visitor's phone.
