Open Call is Now Live!

It’s that time of year again! FLASH Photographic Festival is now calling for submissions for the annual 12 x 12 Exhibition, running May 2-June 28, 2026. This is a great opportunity for Winnipeg’s photography community to showcase their work.

New for this year: The 12 x 12 Exhibition is now open exclusively to FLASH members. The good news is that a yearly membership costs only $10 and can easily be purchased online. Submission Requirements for the 12 x 12 Exhibition: Please read the requirements carefully and email us if you have any questions that are not addressed below.

  1. Renew or purchase your membership on the FLASH Photographic Festival website. 


  2. Choose one of your best works to submit to the 12 x 12 exhibition. 


  3. Prepare your print. You have two options for producing your submission:

Option A – Print Yourself 

  • Print your selected work on 12 x 12 photo paper (non-glossy finish preferred) and dry mount it on white foam core. The finished piece must measure exactly 12 x 12. 


  • Put your full name and contact email on the back of your submission. 


  • Drop off your work at the Gas Station Arts Centre on Tuesday, April 28th, between 9am and 4pm. 



Option B – Use Don’s Photo 


  • You may choose to have your work printed and dry mounted by Don’s Photo at a 30% discount for FLASH members. 


  • Purchase your print through Don's Photo Website by April 15th. Use the promo code FLASH2026 to receive 30% off when placing your order. 


  • Prepay your order and include your full name and contact email in the contact information section. 


  • Indicate that your print will be picked up at the Don’s Photo 957 Portage Avenue location. Our team will collect it and bring it to the Gas Station Theatre to save you a trip.

If printing yourself:
Drop off at the Gas Station Arts Centre, 445 River Avenue, Unit 1, on Tuesday, April 28 between 9am and 4pm

FLASH 12x12 Exhibition OPENING RECEPTION at the Gas Station Arts Centre:
Saturday, May 2 from 4pm to 6pm

Post-exhibition pick-up dates:
June 29 to July 3

Please note: FLASH Photographic Festival is not responsible for works after July 3, 2026. Please ensure your work is picked up before this deadline.
